Carbon Fiber for Material Handling and Torque Reaction Solutions

GCI utilizes carbon fiber to dramatically reduce the weight of a lift system. Arms with carbon fiber tubes weigh roughly half of the weight of a steel version. This makes it possible to create different solutions, like a long-reach torque reaction arm or a high-capacity manipulator arm. Additionally, the lower arm weight is easier to move for operators.

GCI also launched the first-of-its-kind carbon fiber torque reaction tube capable of absorbing both horizontal and vertical torque forces. Rated up to 200 NM, it is roughly 1/3 of the weight of a steel version. Our team has extensively tested this product by running the tube through 100,000 vertical torque cycles, 50,000 horizontal torque cycles, and 50,000 cycles with a 30 lbs offset load. It is durable and a great solution for better operator ergonomics.
